The issue of student movement and police action in Rahul Gandhi Delhi Protest has once again come to the center of national politics. Under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MPs and leaders protested in Delhi. This demonstration was organized in protest against the alleged police action, lathi charge and use of force on the students.
Congress says that the peaceful protesting students are being treated barbarically and is against the basic spirit of democracy. During the demonstration, Congress leaders demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Education Minister. According to him, the government is trying to suppress the voice of the students, whereas in a democracy, protests are the constitutional rights of the citizens.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi Delhi Protest Police said that action was taken to maintain law and order during the protest. Police claimed that some protesters kept trying to break the barricade and move forward, and force was used to control the crowd. Police said that this action was within the ambit of law.
In many videos viral on social media, scenes of lathi charge and scuffle on the protesters were seen, although different videos did not show the complete context of the incident. For this reason, different political parties and common people also had different reactions to the incident.

Some people are saying that the police action is inappropriate, while some people are emphasizing on the need to maintain law and order. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the voices of students, youth and opposition in the country are being continuously suppressed.
According to Congress, if students take to the streets democratically with their demands, then the government should listen to them and not use force.

However, till now there has been no official announcement from the Central Government on the demand for resignation from the Prime Minister, Home Ministry and Education Ministry. A detailed response on this issue is awaited from the government side. Due to this, the political impact of the incident could increase further.
In a democracy, it is necessary to maintain a balance between protests and law and order. If there is excessive use of force, an impartial investigation should be conducted. Therefore, if the law is broken during the protest, then investigation and action should be taken as per the law. In such a sensitive matter, an impartial investigation can bring out the truth.
