Under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MPs and leaders protested in Delhi. In many videos viral on social media, scenes of lathi charge and scuffle on the protesters were seen, although different videos did not show the complete context of the incident. For this reason, different political parties and common people also had different reactions to the incident.
Some people are saying that the police action is inappropriate, while some people are emphasizing on the need to maintain law and order. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the voices of students, youth and opposition in the country are being continuously suppressed.
According to Congress, if students take to the streets democratically with their demands, then the government should listen to them and not use force.
However, till now there has been no official announcement from the Central Government on the demand for resignation from the Prime Minister, Home Ministry and Education Ministry.
