The slogan BJP Sweeps Bengal Elections 2026 has now become a topic of discussion across the country as the BJP won 207 out of 294 seats in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. The results reduced the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to 80 seats, while the Congress was left with just 2 seats. The results signal not only an electoral victory, but a major change in the political balance in Bengal.
After the election, the atmosphere became more heated instead of calm. Police raided the office of TMC leader Salauddin Sardar in South 24 Parganas on Wednesday morning and recovered 18 sharp-edged weapons. The video, which went viral on social media, clearly shows the weapon decorated on the table. The BJP has accused the TMC workers of preparing violence, while the TMC has responded by describing it as a political conspiracy.
A few hours earlier, another major controversy erupted in Kolkata’s New Market area. Here, the TMC office was allegedly attacked, where a mob dressed in saffron vandalized the office and demolished it. Video footage shows police standing around, but there appears to be little direct intervention. Following the incident, the TMC accused attacks on its cadres across the state, where at least two cadres were reported killed.

The BJP has clearly denied the allegations, saying they are the result of internal feuds and factions in the TMC. Party leaders have appealed for peace and said the decision of the people should be respected. Meanwhile, the TMC stated that violence is being spread in the name of democracy, which is a very dangerous sign.

Political analysts believe that BJP Sweeps Bengal Elections 2026 is not just a matter of winning seats, but could be the beginning of the weakening of the hold of the long running TMC in Bengal. However, the incidents of post-poll violence also show that political tensions in the state are not yet over.
The whole matter now calls into question law and order and democratic values. Viral videos on social media, police reports and different political statements—all prove that the situation is complex and every claim must be investigated. Things may change right now, and the true picture will become clearer in time.
