But the problem grows when countries politicize migration instead of working together to find solutions. Many leaders in Europe and the United States spread fear by making Migration Policy Failure an election issue. While the truth is that migrants contribute hugely to the economy.

The healthcare, farming, construction and technology sectors in the US rely heavily on migrants. Approximately 18% of the workforce in the United States comes from immigrant backgrounds. Many of Silicon Valley’s biggest technology companies were started by migrants or their children.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai comes from India, while Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk migrated from South Africa. This example shows that migration also promotes innovation and economic growth.
Climate change is also becoming a big cause of migration. According to the World Meteorological Organization, millions of people are displaced every year due to floods, droughts and extreme weather. Climate migration is increasing rapidly in South Asia, Africa and Pacific islands.
If the world does not work together to develop policy now, the migration crisis could become even more dangerous in the coming decades.
The real need is for the world not to fight against migration, but to work together on migration management. Legal migration pathways, border security, asylum reforms, anti-human trafficking action and economic development in origin countries are essential.
No country alone can solve the migration problem. Unless international cooperation is strengthened, border chaos, illegal trafficking and political polarization will increase.
Migration has always been part of human history. People have always moved for a better life, security and opportunity. The real failure is not the migrants, but the global system that cannot balance humanity, law and cooperation. If countries stop politics and focus on practical cooperation, migration can make the world stronger, not weaker.
