Noida workers clash with police in violent protest over salary hike demands, leading to arson, clashes, and major disruptions in the city.

The NOIDA WORKERS CLASH WITH POLICE incident has now become a topic of discussion across the country, where the anger of the workers took to the streets. Between April 10 and 13, 2026, thousands of workers gathered in the industrial areas of Noida, especially in Phase-2 and Sector 60, demanding a wage hike. They were saying that they get about ₹13,000–₹15,000 a month, while the work is done for 10–12 hours, which is not fair. According to the report, the workers were demanding ₹18,000–₹20,000 a month and 8 hours of duty, motivated by the recent pay hike in Haryana.

The situation deteriorated when the demonstrations gradually turned violent. Vehicles were set on fire, stones were thrown and police vehicles were damaged in several places. Roads were jammed, especially on Sector 62, Chilla Border and Delhi-Noida connecting road. Thousands of people were stuck in the streets for hours, showing how widespread the impact of the movement was.

When things started to get out of control, the police intervened. Tear gas was fired in several places and light force was used to control the crowd. The administration said “minimum force” was used to minimize casualties. Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered officials to immediately start talks with the workers and try to find a solution to the problem.

The government and administration are now taking steps to handle the situation. According to the report, there is talk of implementing new rules for workers such as timely salary, double overtime pay, weekly leave and medical facilities.
