Gaza Strip Peace Agreement Brings Hostage Release and Promotes Regional Stability

Gaza Strip Peace Agreement leads to the release of hostages and strengthens regional stability while highlighting international diplomacy efforts in the Middle East.

On October 13, 2025, 20 Israeli citizens held captive for two years in the Gaza Strip Peace Agreement were released by Hamas. This entire process has been completed through the Red Cross. The return of 20 Israeli civilian hostages from Gaza not only brings joy and relief to their families, but also sends an important message for regional stability.

On the same day, October 13, US President Donald Trump, during his visit to Israel, praised the peace agreement while addressing the Knesset. Under this agreement, Israel released many Palestinian prisoners. Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Melonie also supported this initiative and thanked the leaders of America, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey and expressed her commitment to contribute to the reconstruction and stability of Gaza Strip Peace Agreement.

This diplomatic agreement and cooperation of Israel can be considered strategic and its aim can also be to establish trust. These steps now indicate Israel is ready to end the violence and try to create an environment for political dialogue with the Palestinian leadership. With this, a direct message goes to the international community, especially countries like America and Europe, that Israel is now sensitive towards peace and humanitarian interests.

This process may temporarily increase regional stability through Trump’s visit and the signing of the agreement. This may ease tensions between Israel and Palestine to some extent, but lasting peace is only possible if social, economic, and political reforms are implemented after this agreement.

While this currently represents a temporary peace agreement, it does not resolve the long-standing fundamental political and territorial conflicts between Gaza Strip Peace Agreement and Israel. If we want to bring peace, then fundamental structural reforms, security arrangements and ensuring the rights of both parties are also necessary.

Gaza Strip Peace Agreement

International interventions are partly for local benefit and partly for political gain. The US and European countries take regional stability and human rights into account, but also take into account political and economic interests, political dominance and security goals. Thus, the purpose of the intervention cannot be said to be completely in the interest of the local people, rather a dual strategy is visible in it.

This agreement, which excludes future hostage releases, humanitarian relief, and international mediation, demonstrates that political and diplomatic measures, rather than military action, can be effective in resolving conflicts.

Opinion

This peace agreement and the release of the hostages signaled a temporary respite and diplomatic success in the Middle East conflict. Cooperation between the Israeli and Palestinian sides built trust, while the participation of Trump and other international leaders promoted regional stability. However, this agreement does not ensure lasting peace and compromises local interests as well as strategic advantages. Such agreements could provide a model for future negotiations and mediation, provided all parties make serious commitments and implement structural reforms.
