Former US President Donald Trump recently issued a strong warning to Iran at a Republican dinner to get serious about the ceasefire. He said the U.S. actions were βnot just war, but a solid military operation,β specifically targeting Iranβs nuclear program. The operation, reportedly called βOperation Epic Fury,β has been ongoing for about a month.

According to the report, more than 10,000 targets have been attacked so far, and more than 1,500 people have been killed in the conflict. The situation remains constantly tense. In response, Iran has fired about 100 missiles targeting a sensitive US position, and at the same time launched several missile attacks on Israel, injuring at least nine people.
Advrtisment
Iran claims it attacked Israeli nuclear sites, while the United States and Israel deny the claim. Meanwhile, the US has also put forward a ceasefire proposal, which has been delivered to Iran via Pakistan. The proposal says some economic sanctions could be lifted if Iran restricts its nuclear activities.
But Iran has made it clear that it is not negotiating directly with the United States, although it does review proposals. It is clear from this situation that the lack of trust between the two countries still persists.

Most alarmingly, the conflict has now extended to the vicinity of the Bushehr Nuclear Plant. If there is a major attack in this area, the risk of nuclear disaster could increase. Russia has already warned that if the plant is attacked, it could cause massive destruction across the region.
On the other hand, the Gulf countries are expressing concern over the escalating tensions and appealing for peace in our region. While Germany has made it clear that it has decided not to join the conflict.
As of now, it is clear that the conflict between the United States and Iran has reached a dangerous level. If no agreement is reached soon, the conflict could escalate, affecting not only the Middle East, but the entire world.
Finally, Trumpβs statement clearly signals that America is no longer in the mood to back down. It remains to be seen how Iran takes the warningβchooses the path of peace, or fuels the fires of conflict.
