The enduring and multifaceted partnership between India and Oman witnessed another significant moment with a warm welcome extended at Muscat airport. I am extremely grateful to His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Omanβs Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, for his gracious hospitality upon arrival. This gesture underscores the deep-rooted mutual respect and the special place the India-Oman friendship holds in the strategic calculus of both nations. Our meeting transcended formalities, evolving into a great interaction where we had the opportunity to exchange valuable perspectives on strengthening our historic ties.
The discussions naturally centered on advancing the robust India-Oman friendship, a relationship built on centuries of cultural, trade, and people-to-people linkages. In the contemporary context, our dialogue explored avenues to further deepen collaboration across key sectors, including defence, security, trade, and investment. Oman’s pivotal location and its role as a key partner in Indiaβs extended neighbourhood make this strategic dialogue crucial for regional stability and shared prosperity. The convergence of views on many regional and global issues further solidifies the foundation of this vital partnership.
Such high-level engagements are instrumental in injecting fresh momentum into bilateral relations.
